We are excited to announce that our CTO is officially launching our charity initiative, UnderDOGGO 101! Please find all the details below and join us in making a difference for dogs everywhere.

 

Underdoggo 101: Every Dog Deserves to Be Seen 🐾

When you think of dogs, what comes to mind? Maybe a Labrador Retriever, a Golden Retriever, a German Shepherd, or a Shiba Inu. But what about the countless dogs whose names you’ve never heard of? Around the world, there are thousands of local and indigenous dog breeds—unique, resilient, and deeply rooted in their regions. From East Asia and Africa to the Americas, these dogs have been loyal companions to humanity for centuries.

Yet, because they lack official breed standards and recognition, they remain unseen and uncelebrated. These “underdogs” are also among the most vulnerable, facing abandonment, malnutrition, abuse, and even worse fates. In underdeveloped regions, the stray dog population can soar to millions. Non-pedigree dogs are three times more likely to be abandoned than their pedigree counterparts. And their average life expectancy? Less than three years. These are lives spent in the shadows—lives we cannot afford to ignore.

Underdoggo 101 was created to change that. Our mission is to shine a spotlight on these overlooked dogs, sharing their stories and raising awareness about indigenous and landrace breeds. We advocate for responsible pet ownership, fight against abuse and poisoning, and call for stronger protections for all dogs. For a long-term goal, we aim to build adoption networks for indigenous dogs, provide lifesaving first-aid kits for poisoned pets, and try to get international organizations to officially recognize these incredible breeds.

Every dog matters. Every dog deserves to be seen, respected, and loved. Underdoggo 101 will help bring these unsung heroes out of the shadows and into our hearts.
